How to Trust God When You Don’t Have All the Answers
Welcome to June! As we step into a new month, it’s worth taking a moment to reflect: How was May for you?
For some, it may have been a month of answered prayers and breakthroughs. For others, it may have brought challenges, uncertainty, or questions that remain unanswered. Regardless of where you find yourself today, one truth remains constant: every victorious Christian life is built on the foundation of faith.
Faith is more than a church word or a positive mindset. Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” In simple terms, faith is choosing to trust God even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
Why Faith Matters
Life often presents situations that test our confidence. Financial pressures, career decisions, family concerns, and unexpected setbacks can easily shift our focus from God’s promises to our circumstances. Yet faith anchors our hearts and reminds us that God is still in control.
Faith gives us the confidence to keep moving forward when answers seem delayed. It helps us trust God’s character even when we don’t fully understand His plan. Rather than being driven by fear or uncertainty, faith allows us to stand firmly on God’s promises.

How Faith Grows
The Bible teaches us in Romans 10:17 that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” This means our faith grows stronger when we consistently spend time with God and His Word. The more we know His character, the easier it becomes to trust Him through life’s uncertainties.
Prayer also plays a vital role in strengthening our faith. As we spend time talking with God, bringing our concerns before Him, and listening for His guidance, our confidence in Him deepens. Faith grows when we regularly connect with the One who holds every detail of our lives.
Learning from Abraham’s Example
A powerful example of faith is Abraham. When God called him to leave everything familiar and journey toward a promise he could not yet see, Abraham obeyed. His confidence was not based on visible evidence but on the faithfulness of the God who had spoken.
Because he trusted God, he experienced the fulfillment of God’s promise. Like Abraham, we are often invited to trust God beyond our fears, doubts, and unanswered questions. Faith grows when we choose God’s Word over worry and His promises over what our circumstances seem to say.
Strengthening Your Faith This Week
Here are three practical ways to grow your faith:
- Spend time daily in God’s Word. Allow Scripture to shape your perspective and strengthen your confidence in God.
- Set aside intentional moments of prayer. Talk with God honestly and listen for His guidance.
- Trust God in one specific area of your life. Identify a situation where you need His direction or provision and choose to place it in His hands.
Faith does not mean having all the answers. It means trusting the One who does.
Reflect
What circumstance in your life is God inviting you to trust Him more deeply today?
Perhaps it is the area where you feel the most pressure, worry, or lack of control. Often, God uses these moments to draw us closer to Him and teach us greater dependence on His faithfulness.
When you recognize an area where your trust needs to grow, surrender it to God in prayer, remain grounded in His Word, and continue taking obedient steps—even when you cannot see the full outcome.
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your unfailing faithfulness. Strengthen our faith through Your Word. Help us trust You beyond what we can see and teach us to walk confidently in Your promises each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
